Farewell to our beloved prophet

Go to the bottom of my blog and pause the music so that you can hear the music from this video. Lisha Hoopes emailed me this video that someone had made in dedication to our Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. It is very touching and it brought me to tears. Taylor and I had the privelage of speaking in church on Sunday and our topic was about the prophet. We were actually supposed to speak two sundays ago but they called and canceled. I felt the spirit so strongly that day we spoke and during the week as I was preparing my talk I had the STRONGEST feeling that we were supposed to talk about the prophet on this particular day. I decided to talk on President Gordon B Hinckley's life and his accomplishments. I started out with when he was born, his childhood, his married life, his kids etc... I found a really good talk that M. Russell Ballard gave about the prophet and he had so many wonderful quotes from his children. His talk touched me so much and I really loved to see the other side of the prophet that we don't get to see much. I was so emotional throughout my talk and I spoke for 20 minutes. I was so overcome with the spirit that I couldn't stop talking. Later that night we got a few phone calls from people and they informed us that President Gordon B. Hinckley had died that night. I was so shocked and saddened. But I really felt the spirit with me all day and I just thought that it was ironic that I had such a strong feeling that we were asked to talk about the prophet that day. I am not saying that the prophet waited for us to give our talk before he died.....but I really feel that our talks were canceled that one week for a reason. I think we were supposed to talk about our prophet almost as a farewell to him. We will miss him SOOOO much and he was truly a wonderful man and I know that he is in a happier place!

My little snow bunnies

I took the girls out in the front yard the other day to play in the snow. We attempted to make a snowman and snow angels, but the snow was really soft and it wouldn't make a ball so that we could start a snowman. Kamryn had a blast in the snow but Brynlee wasn't so sure about it. She really wanted to touch the snow but then she would cry when she grabbed it. She wouldn't keep her gloves on and so her little hands would freeze when she grabbed the snow.

Pigtails

For dance class the other day I put Kamryn's hair in pigtails. Her hair is finally getting long enough to put them into pigtails. I thought it looked so cute on her. I have been cutting her hair into a short a-line for a really long time. I keep cutting it to get it all one even length. I haven't cut her hair since August and it is getting so long. I have been getting really frustrated with it because now that it is longer I have to curl it to get it to look cute. If I don't it just looks like a mess. It is way to much work for me. But when I put it in pigtails it got me really excited for when it gets really long. I don't think that I will be cutting it anytime soon.

Cooking time with kamryn

We have been locked up in our house because it is so cold outside, so I decided that we needed to do something fun inside the house. That day was my night out with the girls to play bunco and I needed to bring a treat to share with everyone. So I decided to make cupcakes. Well, my mom bought Kamryn the cutest little apron and hat for christmas and it needed to be put to good use. I let Kamryn help me mix the batter (I have a kitchen aid and I mixed it with that first, I just let Kamryn play with the batter). She had a blast and she thought she was so big. Her favorite part was licking the spoon and eating the cupcakes. She loved the cupcakes so much that she would grab the kitchen stool to climb onto it so that she could reach the cupcakes on the counter. Needless to say she was on a sugar high all day that day.

Our funny little Brynlee

Brynlee has been so stinkin' funny lately! The other day Taylor gave her and Kamryn a bath and he took Brynlee out and set her on the floor so that he could go get Kamryn out of the tub. Well she happened to see me loading the dishwasher and she decided to come and help me. She climbed on top of the dishwasher and was pulling the silverware out. It really wasn't much help, but she sure thought that she was a big girl.

After church today I went to get us something out of the fridge to eat for lunch. I turned around to set the food on the countertop and by the time I turned back around, I found Brynlee in the fridge eating some cookies. She climbed on the little step and pulled herself up to the plate and had herself a snack. She is so fun and she always makes us laugh.

My sweet Kamryn

My mom made Kamryn this cute shirt and she wanted to take some pictures of her in it before we went back home. Well we got busy and we weren't able to take any pictures and so I decided to take some for her yesterday. This is for you mom! Thanks for the cute shirt!

Brynlee figuring out how to walk

During our christmas break Brynlee decided that walking was cool. She started walking a little before we went home for christmas, but when we got to St. George she decided to show off to everyone and show them her new trick. She is a little stiff in these videos, but everyday she gets better and better. The last few days she has been walking with me side by side and only holding on to me with one hand. She is getting really good at it and I hope that she will be walking by her first birthday.

North babies singing time

We had all the girls singing their favorite songs together and they had so much fun that they didn't want to stop. Brynlee's favorite song is "If your happy and you know it clap your hands." She loves to clap her hands to the song and she loves all the attention that she gets from it. She is so cute when she claps her hands and she knows when it is time to clap her hands in the song.

Fun with family during christmas break

Kamryn and Brynlee had a good time playing with their cousins Maudi and Marlee. They all played together pretty well. Marlee and Brynlee loved to steal each others binkies and share them with each other. Kamryn and Maudi loved to play dress up and play with their barbies. In this picture they were all singing songs together and having a good time!

Kamryn and Brynlee also loved to play with their Aunt Kate! I know what you are all thinking.....you are probably thinking that this little girl is to young to be my girls' aunt. Well.....for those of you who don't already know, my mom had a baby 3 weeks before I had Kamryn. So Kamryn and Kate are the same age. Kamryn and Kate play together pretty good. But Kate is more interested in the baby (Brynlee), and she also enjoyed taking toys from Kamryn. The two year old stage is hard when it comes to teaching them to share. Neither Kate or Kamryn wanted to share. But someday they will figure it out and they will play together really good. They liked to be around each other but they didn't want to play together nicely!

We miss all of our family and friends already. I didn't want to go back to Spokane and go back to the snowy weather. I hate leaving friends and family, especially when we are having a good time. The day that we left St. George was a really emotional day for me. I hate crying in front of people and I fight back the tears as long as I can. Luckily I was able to hold it in that day, otherwise I would have been an emotional wreck. So if you think that I am insensitive....I'm really not, I just hate to cry in front of people. We had a GREAT time with all of you, and it was such a good christmas. Our families were so good to us, and they did way too much for us. We miss all of you and can't wait to see all of you in May! Hopefully I can convince Taylor to come home for spring break in March!

Home Sweet Home

We are back home now! We flew home on monday, and let me tell you......I was so not prepared to be back in the snow. It was so nice being in St. George and to be able to just walk outside in a long sleeved shirt and pants. We come back to Spokane and we have to bundle up in layers just to keep us warm. Last night we had a huge snow storm and it dropped about 10 inches of snow. This picture doesn't even show you how much snow was on the ground. It was ridiculous. Taylor was 50 minutes late to class because of all the snow. His windshield wipers were frozen so he had to scrape the snow off. There was so much snow on the ground that his pants, shoes and socks were soaked by the time he got to his car. And the freeway was loaded with snow and so all the drivers were driving really slow. It was so bad that one of the snow plow trucks got stuck in the snow. The news showed a picture of the truck, and the snow got backed up in his tires and pushed him off the freeway. Kinda funny!!! Needless to say, we miss St. George's weather. I have so much to post and so much to talk about, but we are so busy getting the house in order etc.... So for now this picture will have to do, but I promise that I will catch up soon!

I DON'T KNOW WHY WE EVEN BOTHERED WITH GETTING KAMRYN PRINCESS STUFF FOR CHRISTMAS, CAUSE ALL SHE WANTED WAS TO PLAY WITH ALL THE LITTLE BOY TOYS. SHE LOVED THE MARBLE TOY, AND THE RACE CAR TRACKS. SHE IS GONNA BE OUR LITTLE TOM BOY!

CHRISTMAS WAS REALLY GOOD THIS YEAR. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH ALL OUR FAMILY. IT HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO COME HOME AND SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND I HATE TO SEE IT END. WE HAVE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME AND IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE HOME. I HAVE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED ALL THE SHOPPING IN ST. GEORGE. WE HAVEN'T BEEN HOME SINCE AUGUST AND I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH IT HAS CHANGED. WE HAVE SO MANY NEW STORES AND GREAT PLACES TO SHOP. I MISS ALL THE CUTE LITTLE SHOPS WITH CUTE DECORATIONS FOR YOUR HOME. SPOKANE DOESN'T HAVE ANY GOOD SHOPPING! I WAS HOPING THAT I WOULD GET ALOT OF NEW DECORATIONS FOR OUR NEW HOME, BUT SINCE WE FLEW HOME IT IS GONNA BE HARD TO GET ALL OUR STUFF BACK TO SPOKANE. BUT DON'T YOU WORRY......I WILL FIND A WAY TO GET ALL MY CUTE STUFF HOME. THESE LAST TWO WEEKS HAVE REALLY GONE BY FAST. WE HAVE ONE MORE WEEK LEFT HERE AND I HOPE THAT IT GOES REALLY SLOW SO THAT I CAN ENJOY MYSELF AND SEE EVERYONE THAT I HAVE WANTED TO SEE. WE HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND WE HOPE THAT THE REST OF YOU DID AS WELL. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Kamryn's first recital

Sick baby again

Once again Brynlee is sick. It has been the never ending story with her. She has been sick 5 different times since the middle of October. This time it is more serious. She has had a terrible cough this last couple of days and she has had a really hard time breathing. It has made it really hard for us to sleep at night because she is up coughing and crying. I decided to take her to the doctor today since we are coming home tomorrow. Well when we brought her to the doctors office they did a test to see where her breathing level was at. It was really low and they were a little concerned with it. They figured that it was broncheolitis (I have no idea how to spell that) and the only wat to treat it is with a nebulizer (I don't know how to spell that either). The nebulizer is a machine that you put the medicine and it releases the medicine almost like a humidifier. The medicine has to be inhaled in order to get the bug out of her lungs. It is kinda hard to explain so hopefully these pictures explain how it works. We have to use this machine every four hours until she gets better. They also found that she has an ear infection and so we have an antibiotic for that. Needless to say it has been really rough and we are so tired.

Bompa came to town

Bompa North came into town this week and he brought Kamryn a princess dress up chest, and she was in heaven. She loved it and thought that it was the best thing in the whole world. The first thing that she said was "It's so cute", and "It's Tinkerbell", and then for the first time she said "It's wonderful." It was so funny. Kamryn loved having Bompa in town and she was Bompa's little shadow. She loves her Bompa and she was pretty lonely when he went home. We enjoyed having him and it was sure quiet when he left.

Out of the loop.....

I feel so out of it lately! I have been so sick this pregnancy and we just moved into a new house and it has just been crazy here. Between the sickness and the unpacking I haven't been on my blog lately and I haven't checked out anyone else's blog either. We have been waiting for a week to get the internet installed into the new house and Comcast is just taking their sweet time getting here. So sometimes we are able to get internet from our neighbor's house. But of course it is wireless and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't and it is really slow. So with that said.....I hope to get the internet soon and I hope to be able to post new pictures onto the blog. If not we will be flying home this saturday so we will be home soon to see you all. We are so excited to get out of this cold snowy weather. Yay!

Here is the good video of Kamryn at her dance class. She didn't know that someone was video taping her and so she did really well. Kamryn is the one with the black leg warmers. Enjoy...I sure did!

I wanted to show all of you how cute Kamryn is at her dance class and how well she does the dance. Kamryn's dance teacher has the cutest video of her dancing and I have been trying to get her to email it to me so that I could show all of you. She hasn't emailed it to me yet, so I decided that I was gonna take my own video of her. Well......she didn't do as well as she usually does. She happened to catch me video taping her and it threw her off guard and she got a little distracted and then half way through the dance my memory card was full and it cut the video off. So I am gonna see if her dance teacher will email me the video, so I can show you how well she does. Kamryn's dance recital is this saturday and we are excited and sad at the same time. We wished that Grandma's and Grandpa's could come out and support her. We are so proud of her and I absolutely love watching her cute little dance moves. She LOVES dance class and she looks forward to it every week. I will make sure to take some video of Kamryn at her dance recital since this video didn't work out so well.

First snowfall of the season

Well we got our first snowfall this year. It snowed on Monday night and when we got up in the morning on Tuesday there was 4 inches of snow on the ground. It was so pretty! We are suppposed to have another big storm tonight that is supposed to last for 24 hours and drop 3-5 inches of snow (on top of what we already have on the ground). It is so much fun to have snow, but I HATE driving in it. I am from St. George and we don't get snow there, and to now have snow all over the place it is a little overwhelming. I am such a chicken when I drive in the snow and I am sure that I piss alot of people off when I drive cause I drive really really slow. Kamryn really likes the snow and she is so cute to watch when she plays in it. I am gonna have to go get the girls some snowboots and snowsuits so that we can go romp around in the snow (I think that will be a christmas gift). The weather is very COLD. It has been about 23 degrees during the day and at night it is usually 16 degrees. It's cold but we are having so much fun with the snow!

We give thanks for.........

This year for thanksgiving we are thankful for our new addition to the family. I am currently 13 weeks pregnant. After 7 pregnancy tests and 9 weeks later we found out that we are having a baby. We were a little surprised and nervous, but we are super excited now! Taylor is hoping for a little boy and I am not the least bit concerned what the sex is. It would be nice to have a girl cause we already have all the clothes and girl stuff that we would need. But at the same time it would be fun to have a boy.

This little baby came to us as a big surprise. Taylor and I had just started to talk about when we thought would be a good time to get pregnant again (not knowing that we were already pregnant). We considered getting pregnant in between christmas time and february. Well.....the lord had something different in mind! I was on birth control and taking it consistantlyand faithfully every day. About half way through my birth control pack I had the strongest feeling that I needed to stop taking my birth control. This went on for awhile before I finally stopped (which was one day before my birth control pack was finished). When I received my calling as a den mother in the cub scouts the second counselor said to us "I don't know why the lord feels the need for you to be in the cub scouts considering you have two little girls. I think that the lord has something in store for you". That same day in church Taylor felt the spirit telling him that it was ok to add to the family. We really feel that the lord felt like this was the right time for us to add to the family and we both feel like the lord was giving us a couple warnings and preparing us for this BIG SURPRISE.

When I went in to get my blood test, the nurse had asked me a few questions. She asked me what birth control I was on. I told her that I had been taking Yaz, and she just gave me a funny look. She said that I was the 2nd person who had come in that week who had been taking that same birth control and had gotten pregnant (it was only tuesday). She continued to tell me that she gets alot of people who are taking that birth control and end up getting pregnant.

We are so grateful for our beautiful little girls and for this new surprise and we would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday package in the mail

We got a package in the mail today from Groma and Grompa North. We were so excited and we love to get packages in the mail. It totally makes our day. Both girls were excited to play in the box and make a huge mess of the package. Kamryn was so cute when she opened the package. She has really started to get excited about presents and it is so fun to see her reaction. Christmas is gonna be a blast. Groma and Grompa gave the girls a snowman book and a nativity set and some adorable matching pj's. And they looked even cuter on the girls. Thanks Groma and Grompa we loved the gift and it made our day. The pj's are so cute and I love them.

Bathtub baby!

Brynlee LOVES LOVES LOVES the bathtub. As soon as she hears the water she takes off and heads towards the tub. I can't take a shower without her coming for me and climbing on the tub. I have to dump all of her toys out and block the hallway so that she can't get to the tub. But even that only lasts for a few minutes. I have to rush my showers so that she will stop crying and attempting to come and get me. I have had to let her in the shower with me a few times just so that I could finish. She really LOVES the tub and it is the best way for us to get her to calm down when she is fussy or sick. Both Kamryn and Brynlee love to bathe with each other and they are so stinkin funny together. Cute bum Brynlee!

Kamryn the baby

Kamryn loves to play in Brynlee's toys. She will come and grab me or Taylor and say "Bubby all done", and then we will take her out and immediately Kamryn climbs in and jumps in this toy. She is to big for the toy so she really doesn't get to jump in it, but she sure likes to give it a try. I have had to start putting it in the closet so that she can't climb in and out of it. I don't want her to break it cause it really is a life saver for me when I need a break.

Sick baby!

Brynlee got a fever last night and has just been feeling really bad ever since. She had a rough night and was crying most of the night. She wouldn't take any tylenol and she wouldn't eat her bottle. Her head, back and hands were on fire. So we took off her clothes and put a cold washcloth on her head and that cooled her down a bit, but she still was fussy and not feeling good. At 5:50a.m. Taylor got up and got in the bathtub with her and she loved it, but as soon as we took her out she cried and her fever continued to rise. This morning it was at 101 and was getting hotter every time I checked. So I called the doctor and got an appointment. He wasn't concerned and said to make sure that she eats and to give her tylenol. And if it doesn't get better in a few days to go back and see him. Well this afternoon she layed on the couch all day. She layed in the same spot the whole time. The only time she moved was when I picked her up to hold her. It was so sad to see her like this cause she normally talks and plays and is a happy baby. I felt so bad for her, but at the same time I really liked having her so cuddly. I don't get enought time holding her, so it was really nice to just hold my baby all day. Kamryn was so cute with her and gave her blankets and told her that it was gonna be ok. She loves her bubby and we are excited to get her back to her normal self. She has been feeling better tonight and her fever has gone down alot. I just hope that she sleeps good tonight cause Taylor and I are exhausted!

So Big! Brynlee has been army crawling since she was 7 months old and she is now almost 9 months old. She knows how to crawl and she will take quite a few crawling steps, but then she lays down and just army crawls. She is our little worm! This last week she just figured out how to climb onto EVERYTHING! I didn't think that she was gonna climb on things for awhile cause she wasn't on her hands and knees, but she picked it up and now she is on everything. She is just about standing on her own now as well. She will let go for a split second and stand there, and then of course she falls. She is getting so big and is becoming quite the fun little baby. She has also figured out how to walk along the couch to get to the object that she wants. Which usually ends up being the remote control.

Daddies little angels!


Kamryn loves to pick up Brynlee and attempt to walk around with her. But of course she doesn't make it very far and she ends up having to put her down. Kamryn loves to be the mom and help me get the diapers and wipes ready, give Brynlee her binkie, and help hold the bottle for bubby (although Brynlee doesn't need help, she can do it by herself). But her favorite thing to do is pick bubby up and play with her. It is so cute to watch the two of them together. Brynlee just laughs and laughs when Kamryn picks her up. And Kamryn tries so hard to pick her up like I do. Brynlee is too big for Kamryn and she ends up falling down and the two of them just laugh their little heads off. They are so cute together and they are the greatest joy of our lives!
