Future Artist

These are a few piece's of Kamryn's artwork. She is quite the little artist and LOVES to draw all the time. She draws something new every week WITHOUT anybody's help. She is so creative! Mind you she is only 4 years old, maybe it's not that great but I think she does a GREAT job! She is writing her name down all by herself, can write a few numbers, writes every letter in the alphabet, and much much more. Her newest drawing is a bike and it is pretty dang good, unfortunately I didn't save that one (not on purpose). My personal favorite of these 6 pictures is the Kitty Cat, I LOVE the legs on the kitty......so funny! I started teaching her to draw smiley faces shortly after she turned 3 and it has progressed to much much more. So proud of my little munchkin!

Visit with Mike and Karen

We went up to Paradise, Utah (Logan) to visit with my aunt and uncle. It is so nice to be near family again and only have to drive a few hours to visit, vs. a day to visit. We had so much fun feeding horses, eating fresh fruit, riding four wheelers, playing with Allison and Jonny, visiting, eating yummy pizza, playing with the kitty, jumping on the tramp, and playing the WII. Thank you Mike and Karen for a fun day and yummy pizza. The kids had so much fun and DID NOT want to leave! Thanks so much!

Thanksgiving Point...

Took the kids to Thanksgiving Point with some friends for Family Home Evening. We had so much fun and there was sooooooooo much to do. Slides, swings, carriages, trains, toys, princess dress-ups, coloring, jumping pillow tramps, food, pig racing, music, pumpkins, bull riding, 4 wheel/bike thingy's, wagons, cornboxes, ducky racing, pumpkin tree, a fire to make your own smore's, and much much more! It was a blast and worth the drive and money. The kids LOVED it and were running all over the place to go to the next best thing. If you haven't been................GO!

Slow Cooker White Bean Chicken Chili

2 14 oz. cans chicken broth
3-4 chicken breasts
3 cloves garlic
2 tsp. ground cumin
2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 cans great northern beans
1 can corn (I use frozen corn, tastes more like corn on the cob)
3 tbsp. lime juice
2 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro

Put chicken, broth, cumin, oregano, garlic, salt, and red pepper to slow cooker. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on LOW. Shred chicken with two forks. Drain beans and corn and add to crockpot. Add cilantro and lime juice and cover for 30 minutes to heat through. Mmmmm....Tasty! Enjoy!

Check out this website that has a new crockpot recipe everyday www.365daysofcrockpot.blogspot.com she has some AMAZING recipes! Give it a try!

Little get away

Went to St. George for the weekend for my sister's baby shower, the marathon, and a break from the colder weather. Northern Utah has been chilly this last week so it was nice to get back to some warmer weather. Friday morning we got ready to go do something fun and ended up not having a whole lot to do so we surprised Taylor's mom at work and she said how cute we all looked and how coordinated our outfits were and I kept looking around like "What is she talking about".......I knew I had matched the girls in same outfits and I did it on purpose, but what I didn't realize is that I put Tayson in a blue and white shirt and then Taylor and I wore white and blue. It was totally unplanned and I actually felt quite stupid after that was pointed out to me. I am not one of those moms who coordinates the WHOLE family in matching outfits unless it is for our annual family picture and even then I don't do it totally matchy matchy. Anyways, we snapped a picture cause I thought it was kinda funny.

Saturday we went to the STG Marathon. I LOVE going to the marathon. I have not been able to go for a few years so it was nice to be able to go this year. I find the marathon so inspiring and I always get a little teary eyed watching people run their hearts out. Taylor's uncle John has run the marathon the last 19 years and this year we were able to go and support him. He is so amazing and has so much motivation to drive for 5 hours to run a 26.2 mile marathon 19 years in a row. Way to go Johnny!

We were also lucky to be able to sneak away for a few hours and head up to Pine Valley and go to the cabin. Pine Valley is so pretty and it is a nice get away. So BEAUTIFUL!

Had a fun filled weekend!

Peek a boo.....I see you

Tayson has quite enjoyed learning how to climb up to things that he wants. He likes to climb on the girls bed so that he can jump on it, he likes to climb onto the couch to come and sit by Taylor and I, he tries to climb into the bathtub, loves climbing stairs, he climbs into the car and climbs into his carseat, climbs chairs.......but his newest most favorite place to climb is the BIG COUCH so that he can climb to the BIG WINDOW and hide behind the BIG CURTAINS and play peek-a-boo. I have to admit, it's hard to get mad and tell him that it's not ok because it is so cute to watch him. I am a sucker for that sweet little face and those GORGEOUS BLUE EYES!
